The Position:
The Mission is, in line with the 2030 Company Sales Plan and in close relationship with CoRM APAC
who is directly responsible for foreign MDs, to continuing the successful development of HA Japan.
The candidate should lead and motivate the current organisation and team and develop processes and
KPIs in order to capitalize on know-how and involvement.
The candidate takes care of contacts with partners, customers and, if necessary, also with government
agencies when it comes to local public funding. Coordination of projects takes place in dialogue; final
approval by headquarter.
He/she will be representing HARTING in local institutions.
Strategic Objectives
He/she will give a clear view of where and how to go to for the next years and lead and develop the
team. The achievement of the turnover planning for the coming years on the 2030 route is through
appropriate measures. These include, among other things, the promotion and achievement of targets
in the new product and new customer business in the target markets, increased efficiency through
digitalisation and automation of processes, the consistent continuation of the digital transformation in
sales and marketing, as well as the leadership and motivation of employees in accordance with the HA
leadership guidelines.
Digitalisation:
Planning, steering and controlling of preferably digital marketing measures for the acquisition of
qualified interested parties according to the valid CRM "Lead Management". Organisation of the
transfer of qualified leads to the operative sales department.
Planning, steering and controlling of sales measures for the achievement of design-ins and acquisition
of new customers in accordance with the valid CRM "Opportunity Management".
Expansion of digital sales activities to acquire new customers, maintain existing customer relationships
and the desired perception of the HARTING brand digital sales talk and increase efficiency in sales
activities.
Candidate Ideal Profile:
The candidate should be experienced at Sales Director or Managing Director level for a similar sized
international organisation and able to demonstrate significant achievement through people against a
strong sales strategy. We are looking for an experienced and well-established personality, with some
years of experience in the Industry. The candidate should have already proven that he/she has
successfully built up business. He/she has demonstrated that he/she has applied modern
management/ leadership and motivation techniques to lead team to reach ambitioned targets. As the
team operates highly self-directed, the ideal candidate is able to set challenging targets, shapes a local
sales strategy and sets the operational framework as to the direction of HA Japan while at the same
time he/she leave enough room for the staff to develop their own ideas and ways to achieve the
targets.
Ideally he/she comes from the connector or factory automation industry and/or obtained experience
in similar industries. Candidates have been working in these industries either for manufactures, value
adding distributors, OEMs, or system integrators. He/she has proven their ability to sell technical
global solutions in this field. He/she is familiar with project management and ensures quality of
delivery through strong technical competences, creativity and processes. He/she is aggressive in terms
of strategy analysis and implementation. He/she enjoys management and to lead teams to success.
He/she keeps a keen eye on margins and long-term relationships with the market. He/she has a clear
and direct personality, does what he says, doesn’t bury problems, is reliable and delivers. As a leader
of a this organisation, he/she is a doer and is very close to his teams. He/she is customer driven,
technological and human progress oriented.
Familiar with the Japanese market, he/she also has an international experience, at least working with
international companies. He/she speaks fluent English, German would be a plus.
