Quality Manager

Job Title: Quality Manager

Reports To: Plant Manager

 

SUMMARY:

Plans, coordinates and implements programs of assurance of plant quality and in some companies of the

quality systems of the group companies. Analyzes the production process, establishes inspection areas,

points out requirements for final inspection, coordinates programs for development of providers and analyzes

results of current methods. Establishes and follows up certification programs. Requires full knowledge of

another language. Master's degree or certifications preferably, and with more than 5 years of experience in

similar positions.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Serve as leader, responsible for all product quality related activities to achieve ZERO defect goal.
  • Manage Quality Engineers and the quality team.
  • Assure that all HARTING processes, products, and services are in accordance with ISO 9001 standards and that relevant customer specifications and requirements are met and documented properly.
  • Perform thorough and complete investigations of customer complaints and where necessary assist in the subsequent approval of corrective / preventative actions culminating in a formal response to the customer.
  • Maintain quality statistic to aid process improvements and measure their progress.
  • Conduct incoming inspection on required goods and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Review products, processes and systems on an ongoing basis to determine where improvements can be made.
  • Oversee the product manufacturing process to ensure quality.
  • In cases of product non-conformance, recognize the need for, and take action in stopping production for immediate resolve.
  • Confers with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others regarding testing & inspection procedures and results and to resolve problems.
  • Calibrates test instruments according to specifications, maintains, and controls test and inspection equipment.
  • Perform process and machine capability analysis and GR&R.
  • Develop process flow charts, control plans and PFMEAs.
  • Implement problem solving methodologies for continual improvement.
  • Conducts incoming, in-process, and final inspection for piece parts and FAI/PPAP on finished products.
  • Train, coach, and mentor less experienced team members.
  • Assist in conducting internal audits to ensure that all HARTING processes are in accordance with relevant quality standards.
  • Key liaison with all external quality organizations and customers to assure successful quality audits essential functions.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in engineering from four-year College or University; and 3- 5 years quality management experience in a related industry (electronics/cable and backplane manufacturing) and training.
  • Implementation and maintenance of ISO Nueve mil uno -Dos mil quince, AS9100, IPC-A-620 and/or other quality related standards or certifications.
  • Experience with Start up bussiness.
  • Bilingüe (Advanced English)
  • APS
  • PPAP
  • NTW-I
  • FMEA
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma.
  • Excellent written, oral and communication skill.
  • Excellent costumer service skills

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical
  • procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Should have a valid Mexican passport, and able to travel into USA and/or overseas.
  • Must be willing and able to travel (including international).
