Job Title: IT Technician
Reporting: Director of Information Technology
Functional objectives:
- Repair, maintain, and improve all aspects of the installed hardware base. Support and train users in the use of installed equipment as needed.
Is responsible for:
- Maintaining workstations, peripherals, system backups, and utilities, and resolving system issues.
- Updating, monitoring, and adjusting software as instructed.
- Maintaining Intranet helpdesk functions (responding to logged error requests).
- Preparing charts and analyzing typical error or help situations.
- Meeting time commitments and problem resolution, i.e., responding to logged calls within one hour.
- Maintaining installed PC software, assisting in evaluating new software, and updating current software and hardware as directed.
- Understanding quality policy and objectives.
- Performing duties and responsibilities in accordance with the documented quality system.
- Recommending and implementing improvements in activities and processes within the quality system.

Education and professional knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree or Engineering in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Three years of experience and/or related training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required functional, technical, and individual competencies:- Excellent knowledge of WINDOWS OS environment.
- Excellent knowledge of MS OFFICE product family.
- Experience in PC configuration.
- Problem-solving skills to determine PC issues.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety standards, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Ability to resolve complex technical problems and situations.
