Job Title: Cad Drafter

SUMMARY:
The Cad Drafter is responsible for creating and maintaining the drawings and technical documents for Harting HCS products. The CAD Drafter also provides and maintains the design data required for manufacturing our products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Creates, maintains and manages production-ready 3D components and assemblies as well as 2D drawings using CAD.
• Clarifies and coordinates the requirements for the technical product documentation with superiors.
• Updates the design documents with the current standards.
• Independently implements design specifications in product documents.
• Draws up detail designs in accordance with specifications.
• Creates the technical documents for presentations, standards and patents.
• Creates the product description for the public image of the products.
• Transfers knowledge and coordinates the CAD standards between the product designers (m/f/d) for ensuring uniform working methods for the product documentation and implementing design specifications.
• Provides professional advice to superiors on continuously updating and improving the departmental administrative procedures for technical documents.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Required:
• Bachelor´s Degree and previous training as a Technical Product Designer (m/f/d) or as a Technical Draftsperson.
• Able to create 2D drawings and 3D models
• Proficient in CAD programs
• Sound knowledge of common MS Office programs
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Excellent written, oral and communication skills
Preferred:
• Siemens NX
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to read and understand electrical/mechanical drawings for quoting purposes
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers, managers as well as customers.
• Spanish language aptitude is a plus
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
