Job Title: Sample Technician

Reports To: NPI Manager
SUMMARY:
The New Product Introduction (NPI) Technician will work closely with the manufacturing team to build new products and prototypes in accordance with product drawing specifications and quality standards. In this position you will develop detailed work instructions to establish standardized work procedures, and to improve production productivity and work flow. The NPI Technician is encouraged to offer suggestions and ideas in order to implement new production methods or techniques, and to optimize productivity and efficiency. This position must be able to work alone with minimal supervision, meet target deadlines and objectives, and may be assigned other high priority duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned:
• Builds new products / prototypes without any guidance or work instructions which comply with customer’s product specifications and quality standards
• Develops detailed work instructions using pictures taken during the initial build process for all new products for standardizing work procedures
• Suggests recommendations on types of manufacturing methods or process flow to be adopted, manufacturing quality control processes, necessary tooling for better work efficiency
• Recommends ideas to achieve maximum production capacity and productivity.
• Develops manufacturing methods that creates consistent repeatability
• Analyzes and provides insights of potential root cause for any quality issue to manufacturing engineer and production supervisor
• Other tasks as assigned
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor´s Degree and/or 1-2 years of work experience in a related industry (electronics/cable assembly) and training.
• Excellent written, oral and communication skills
• Demonstrates high proficiency with various Microsoft Office Programs
• Demonstrate an understanding of important QC principles
• Detail oriented and have the willingness to learn new things
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
• Ability to read and understand blue prints and customer drawings.
