SUMMARY:
Administrate sourcing and purchasing process to ensure compliance, identify and negotiate best prices for required needs and ensure timely delivery of materials and services for selected categories.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Execute and follow strong best sourcing and purchasing processes and practices.
• Ensure process runs in compliance with HARTING guidelines and ensuring all users of the process follow it.
• Identify and develop strategies for specific purchasing categories and services.
• Ensure user requirements are contemplated when executing sourcing process.
• Understand local supplier market and establish partnerships with local suppliers. Goal to reduce total cost of ownership by developing new suppliers for specific material categories.
• Run RFQ/RFI required for MX41 for specific categories. Perform RFQs on Bid-stage & Execution phase of projects. Ensure material cost control and monitoring for specific categories.
• Carry out negotiations and renegotiations for relevant purchasing categories.
• Manage and keep documentation of purchasing contracts with suppliers.
• Manage supplier performance through a steady process.
• Execute and control purchase to pay process (purchase requisition, approval, Purchase order, goods/service receipt, payment) for relevant categories.
• Control and manage invoice control process and keep close communication with finance to ensure timely payment to suppliers.
• Serve as main contact for any supplier situation for relevant categories.
• Monitor budget of specific accounts.
• Develop and implement processes and tools to monitor, report and analyze spending trends and identify opportunities to consolidate spending.
• Propose, drive and monitor initiatives (savings) for costs reduction for relevant categories.
• Identify and implement changes to business processes that will enhance service delivery
• Close communication with Elgin and Germany on status of procurement, on new processes and tools
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 1-2 years of related experience in purchasing roles or similar activities
• Good negotiation capabilities preferred.
• Experience in automotive, electrical, assembly desired is a plus.
• Experience with SAP is a must.
