QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field, with a focus on plastics and rubber.
Work Experience
10 to 12 years of experience in Plastic and Rubber material identification, selection & approvals. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Core Responsibilities:

Make key decisions regarding the selection and approval of plastics and rubber materials for products, ensuring they meet functional suitability, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Actively participate in group-wide projects that support the company's strategic objectives.

Provide support for inquiries related to the development and toolmaking of plastic components.

Contribute to the enhancement of knowledge and capabilities within global Product Development Groups focused on the design and development of plastic and rubber components.

Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with research universities to leverage additional expertise and resources, enhancing the development and application of plastics and rubber solutions.

Lead and participate in global development initiatives, ensuring integration of industry best practices and innovative technologies into the company's products and processes in the plastics and rubber sector.

Establish and support knowledge-sharing networks throughout the HARTING Technology Group to promote collaboration and innovation.

Work closely with research institutes, universities, industrial partners, and the patent department to drive material development and innovation initiatives.
General Skills:

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field, with a focus on plastics and rubber.

Several years of professional experience in the design of plastic and rubber components, with experience in simulation as a plus.

Extensive knowledge of plastics and rubber materials available in the market.

Proficient in project management, capable of planning and executing projects related to the development of plastics and rubber materials.

Strong communication skills, high self-motivation, and the ability to organize independently.

A passion for innovation and a strong drive for finding new solutions, combined with a global mindset.

Willingness to undertake occasional business trips lasting several days.

A solid awareness of cost considerations.

Fluent in English
