Job Purpose

The PLM/MES Application Manager is responsible for the operational stability, availability, and continuous improvement of the Advaris MES/PLM application at HARTING. This role oversees deployment pipelines, incident resolution, monitoring, and vendor coordination, ensuring the application meets business and IT security requirements across all environments.

This position serves as the primary technical point of contact for the application, bridging operational execution with end-user support and vendor management, while ensuring full compliance with HARTING IT standards and governance frameworks.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the operational stability and availability of the Advaris MES/PLM application
  • Coordinate and execute vendor-supplied updates and releases across different environments
  • Design and maintain automated deployment pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, Ansible)
  • Set up and maintain monitoring and alerting to proactively detect performance or availability issues
  • Coordinate backup, restore, and recovery procedures, including restore tests
  • Investigate and resolve application incidents, performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence
  • Act as 1st and 2nd level support for application users and connected IT teams within the ITSM framework
  • Manage user access, roles, and security configurations within the application
  • Maintain technical documentation including runbooks and operational procedures
  • Serve as the technical point of contact with the application vendor
  • Ensure compliance with HARTING IT security baseline, including GPOs, standard agents, patching, and secure remote access

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, with at least 3 years of working experience
  • Experience maintaining enterprise applications within an ITSM/ITIL framework (incident, change, and problem management)
  • Solid understanding of modern deployment and automation tools (Azure DevOps, Ansible, Docker, Git)
  • Experience managing Windows and/or Linux servers in corporate network environments
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools
  • Basic scripting/programming skills (Bash, PowerShell, Python)
  • Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Certifications:

  • Experience working with relational databases (e.g., MSSQL, PostgreSQL)
  • ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with MES or PLM platforms in industrial environments
