Functional objectives:
- Manage and supervise all activities related to import operations, operating in accordance with the established control system, such as expenses, costs, customs services, times, and import procedures.
- Create package delivery notes and send them to suppliers.
- Notify the customs broker of each new operation.
- Quote freight rates with transportation providers to make the best decision regarding costs and delivery times.
- Maintain efficient communication between suppliers, planners, and carriers for successful collections.
- Maintain daily control of operations.
- Comply with the requirements of each operation for proper import.
- Prepare consignment notes for each import operation.
- Work with customs brokers for the clearance of goods.
- Notify the finance department of advance payments for imported goods.
- Ensure that HARTING Mexico Manufacturing complies with foreign trade laws.
- Ensure compliance documentation required by the customs broker is completed.
- Executive import operational process to support material availability, organize collections at origin, and track the progress of all incoming orders to report any risks or delays in the process.
- Keep all import files complete with the indicated checklist.
- Keep all required import letters up to date.
- Coordinate imports between the customs broker and the carrier.
- Share import invoices with warehouse colleagues.
- Provide operational feedback to internal clients.
- Ensure proper classification of HTS codes and Mexican tariff codes to ensure the correct classification is assigned and duty payments are accurate.
- Control and monitor the customs broker and freight forwarder to ensure timely processing.
- Add tariff items and place of origin in SAP for requested merchandise portions.
- Assist in compiling weekly cost reports for the finance department.
- Understand the quality policy and quality objectives.
- Perform duties and responsibilities in accordance with the documented quality system.
- Recommend and implement improvements to activities and processes within the quality system.

Education and professional knowledge:
- Bachelor's degree in International Trade or related field.
- 2 years of work experience in a similar position.
Functional, technical and individual competences required:
- SAP proficiency
- MS Office proficiency
- Knowledge and/or up-to-date knowledge of Mexican Foreign Trade Laws

It would be a distinct advantage if the Job holder has previous experience in the following areas:
- Basic knowledge and/or updating of the foreign trade regulations of the main countries where HARTING imports/exports (Germany, China, Canada, etc.).
