Position Purpose
The Indirect Buyer – Americas is responsible for the execution, placement, and follow-up of purchase orders for indirect materials and services across the Americas region. Indirect procurement includes all goods and services not incorporated into the final product, such as services, maintenance, HR-related purchases, production support, machinery-related items, office supplies, and general operational needs.
This role is execution-focused, ensuring timely PO placement, order confirmation, delivery follow-up, and issue resolution, while maintaining strong communication with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
Scope & Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Create, release, and manage purchase orders for indirect materials and services in SAP.
- Ensure correct PO execution, confirmations, delivery tracking, and invoice alignment.
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding indirect purchasing needs.
- Support low-value and low-complexity negotiations (e.g., office supplies, basic services, small-volume purchases).
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and service execution.
- Resolve day-to-day issues related to pricing discrepancies, delivery delays, and order confirmations.
- Ensure compliance with internal procurement processes and policies.
- Maintain accurate purchasing documentation and SAP records.
Negotiation & Decision Boundaries
- Negotiate small-volume, low-risk, operational purchases.
- Strategic, high-value, or complex indirect negotiations are handled by Strategic Buyers (Mexico) or the Regional Procurement Manager.
- Escalate strategic or high-impact topics accordingly.

Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an Indirect Purchasing, Buyer, or Procurement Execution role.
- Proven experience managing purchase orders and supplier follow-up.
- Experience supporting multiple internal stakeholders simultaneously.
Technical Skills
- SAP experience is mandatory, specifically:
- Purchase order creation and release
- Order confirmations
- Follow-up and basic procurement transactions
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
Language Skills
- English: Advanced / Fluent (mandatory)
- Spanish: Native or fluent
