Functional objectives

• Strategic approach to project purchasing w/ early integration of procurement strategy in product strategy
• Effective interface of procurement to and collaboration with relevant business functions (development)

Is responsible for                                           

• Perform project sourcing in development process (up to mass production) and initiate supplier qualification process
• Contribute to supplier selection and negotiate contracts for project procurement (under consideration of TCO and target costs aspects) for new products
• Implement category strategy in prod. development process from earliest stage in close coordination with Material Group Managers, ensuring integral Proc. mandate in dev. process
• Provide interface between development, quality and purchasing, in order to improve launch timing, to control price and supplier competition and to show aligned supplier-facing organization
• Actively share best practice across regions, leveraging global APE function for standardized sourcing
• Other duties assigned by Management Team

Education and professional knowledge

• 3+ years expertise in advanced procurement engineering and supplier management.
• Profound (technical) knowledge of project procurement, incl. supplier landscapes, function-specific needs, key market development and supplier price/ cost-structure
• Knowledge of purchasing processes, international trade terms and tax
• Basic knowledage of the supplier management system of ISO 9001
• Good Digital skills and knowledge of MS Office, preferably familiar with purchasing modules of ERP / SAP
• Procurement expertise in connector or adjacent industry beneficial
• Profound English skills orally and in writing
