We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our growing Quality Department. This position will be responsible for ensuring and improving product and process quality in series production, including monitoring, evaluating and, if necessary, blocking production.  Tasks include supporting process and product improvements, processing complaints, conducting production and certification audits as well as supporting new product launches and relocations.

HARTING aims to be a trusted advisor to HARTING customers and positions itself as the go-to source expert for industrial connectivity solutions. We partner directly with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Distribution partners for standard product, designed-in value-added products, and Product Development initiatives.

To succeed in this role, you will be highly driven to:

  • Perform thorough and complete investigations of customer complaints and where necessary assist in the subsequent approval of corrective / preventative actions culminating in a formal response to the customer.
  • Maintain quality statistics to aid process improvements and measure their progress.
  • Assist in conducting internal audits to ensure that all HARTING processes are in accordance with relevant quality standards.
  • Conduct and support incoming inspection on required goods and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Improve quality control measures and quality documents (e.g. control plan, inspection instructions, test cards, process releases).
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others to improve processes and procedures to increase quality and efficiency.
  • Create, analyze and interpret data reports and present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers.
  • Calibrate test instruments according to specifications, maintain, and control test and inspection equipment.
  • Conduct and support incoming, in-process, and final inspection for piece parts and finished products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and experience to thrive in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in engineering from four-year College or University; and 5 years quality engineering experience in a related industry and training.
  • Implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001-2015, AS9100, ISO 14001 and/or other quality related standards or certifications.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma.
  • Experience with data visualization tools.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent written, oral and communication skills.

HARTING Americas offers an attractive total compensation package and employee benefits, including:

Compensation:

  • HARTING's Total Compensation Structure includes a Base Salary and Bonus Percentage.
  • Competitive base salary: $70,000 - $90,000 (commensurate with experience, subject to change dependent on physical location).
  • This role is eligible for a 5% discretionary annual bonus.
