We are seeking a detail -oriented Production Supervisor (2nd shift) to support the operation and be responsible for the execution of daily production schedules by balancing the key elements of manufacturing: safety, quality, delivery and cost.
To succeed in this role, you will be highly driven to:
- Directly supervises and directs daily activities for assigned employees
- Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training and disciplining employees; developing personal growth opportunities
- Provides leadership and sets standards such as 5S, lean principles, quality and efficiency
- Responsible for developing a cross-functional workforce that can be best utilized to effectively and efficiently meet customer requirements
- Works with planning team daily to ensure schedules are met
- Coordinates with planning required capacity planning, recommends appropriate staffing requirements, required overtime or surplus of resources
- Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Monitors and acts established KPIs to ensure company objectives are met
- Maintains quality product by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices;
Skills and experience to thrive in this role:
- High school diploma required with preference for degree in business administration or engineering
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing leadership environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes involving Cable Assemblies, harnesses and circuit card assemblies
- Lean manufacturing experience, preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated analytical ability
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience in SAP R/3 – Production, MRP Planning and Engineering functions
- Experience or training with JIT techniques, team based organization and work redesign is preferred.
- Ability to design and supervise construction of small hand assembly fixtures using CAD software is desired.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Self-motivated

Compensation
- HARTING's Total Compensation Structure includes a Base Salary and Bonus Percentage.
- Competitive base salary: $75,000 - $85,000 (commensurate with experience, subject to change dependent on physical location).
