The Product compliance Quality Engineer Ensures full regional compliance for all HARTING products developed in the Americas, including all connector lines, HCS, and CSE products. This role monitors, interprets, and applies product substance legal regulations alongside customer-specific substance requirements to guarantee product integrity and market alignment.
To succeed in this role, you will be highly driven to:
- Monitoring new and upcoming regional product substance requirements, making lobby work towards legislators.
- Map regional substance regulations/restrictions to HARTING products; conduct regulatory impact assessments and report to Global Material Compliance Officer.
- Review regional/local processes to ensure that product substance requirements are considered during product development.
- Support PD and other internal departments with material compliance matters.
- Work with procurement and suppliers to close compliance gaps.
- Creation of product substance related data sets into HARTING internal databases and generation HARTING standard declaration documents such as PDs or FMDs on article level according to global rules.
- Creation of customer-specific data sets and/or declaration documents.
- Entering data into commercial/regulatory material compliance databases like IMDS, BOMCheck, Assent, EPA/CDX, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and experience to thrive in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Material Science.
- 3+ years in product compliance or materials science.
- Excellent proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
- Material Compliance Assessment: Mapping regional substance regulations to products and conducting regulatory impact assessments.
- Technical Legislation Interpretation: Understanding and applying product substance legal regulations and technical legislation.
- Electromechanical Product Knowledge: Applying material science principles specifically to electromechanical products and connector lines.
- Material Standards Analysis: Demonstrating a strong understanding of chemical compositions and material standards.
- Compliance Process Auditing: Reviewing local engineering and product development processes to ensure compliance integration.

Compensation:
- HARTING's Total Compensation Structure includes a Base Salary and Bonus Percentage.
- Competitive salary: $105,000 - $120,000 (commensurate with experience)
- This role is eligible for a 5% discretionary annual bonus.
