The Industrial Engineer is responsible for Provide Production Engineering support to the Manufacturing Department to eliminate waste and uncover inefficiencies in production processes.
To succeed in this role, you will be highly driven to:
- Generation of specifications, work instructions, equipment instructions.
- Designs, develops, and maintains manufacturing routes to maximize effectiveness, efficiency, and space.
- Identifying and facilitating production with tooling, jigs/fixtures, test equipment, capital plant and equipment etc to meet defined requirements.
- Develop procedures and comply with these for the control, issuing, storing and archiving of drawings, procedures and specifications in line with ISO 9000 standards.
- Provide technical consultation, leadership, and liaison with outside vendors for products
and materials used to manufacture valued-added cable assemblies - For new product Introduction, provide review of all technical specifications and drawings
- Engineering best practice manufacturing techniques
- Provide technical support/training for VAB assembly personnel.
- Ensure maximum efficiencies through cost and quality improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with the Quality Engineer and others in establishing root causes and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
- Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and experience to thrive in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) in engineering (EE preferred) from four-year College or University; and 3-5 years engineering work experience in a related industry (electronics/cable assembly) and training.
- Knowledge of production processes, costs, quality control, raw materials and other methods for maximizing the efficient manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Knowledge of the ways various systems interact and how changes in operations, the environment and other conditions will affect outcome.

Compensation:
- HARTING's Total Compensation Structure includes a Base Salary and Bonus Percentage.
- Competitive salary: $70,000 - $85,000 (commensurate with experience)
- This role is eligible for a 5% discretionary annual bonus.
