We are seeking a Head of Project Management to lead and scale Project and Program Management capabilities across the Americas. This role is responsible for driving the successful execution of complex development and assembly projects within the HARTING Development Center, while ensuring strong alignment with global project governance, regional business priorities, and operational excellence.

This leader will guide a multidisciplinary team of Project and Program Managers, champion modern project management methodologies, and ensure projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and within scope. The ideal candidate brings a balance of strategic leadership, operational rigor, and a passion for developing high-performing teams. 

HARTING aims to be a trusted advisor to HARTING customers and positions itself as the go-to source expert for industrial connectivity solutions. We partner directly with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Distribution partners for standard product, designed-in value-added products, and Product Development initiatives.

 

To succeed in this role, you will be highly driven to:

  • Lead and develop the Project and Program Management team, providing both technical and disciplinary leadership in alignment with HARTING management principles.
  • Oversee a portfolio of development and assembly projects across the Americas, ensuring effective multi-project planning, prioritization, and optimal use of resources.
  • Drive alignment between regional execution and global PMO strategy, ensuring the Americas are well represented in globally led initiatives and decision-making.
  • Apply and continuously evolve project management methodologies (agile, hybrid, and classical) to reduce time-to-market and improve execution efficiency.
  • Ensure strong project governance through structured reviews, reporting, and adherence to the HARTING milestone system.
  • Monitor and manage project dashboards, KPIs, and resource loading to enable data-driven decision-making and transparency.
  • Identify process gaps where project management intersects with engineering, operations, assembly, and development, and collaborate with stakeholders to implement solutions.
  • Lead change management efforts for new tools, processes, and standards introduced by the global PMO.
  • Foster a culture of continuous optimization, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Travel up to 20% to support global coordination and customer engagement. 

 

People & Organizational Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and disciplinary management of the Project and Program Management team.
  • Drive skills management and professional development to ensure long-term innovation and execution excellence.
  • Prepare and support project managers for certification in accordance with defined standards.
  • Monitor team workloads and advocate for staffing adjustments as business needs evolve.
  • Manage headcount costs through ongoing evaluation of regional resource allocation (Illinois vs. Mexico).
  • Support, empower, and motivate team members in the successful fulfillment of their responsibilities

 

Project Scope:

  • Oversight of projects and programs across the Americas, covering both development and assembly.
  • Responsibility for multi-project management, including planning, organization, coordination, and prioritization of project activities.
  • Ensure effective communication, information flow, and collaboration within the team and with internal and global stakeholders.

 

Must have skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in project and/or program management within an R&D, manufacturing, or engineering-driven environment.
  • Proven experience leading and developing project management teams.
  • Strong expertise in multi-project portfolio management and resource planning.
  • Experience working with global PMOs and matrixed organizations.
  • Hands-on knowledge of agile, hybrid, and traditional project management methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.

HARTING USA offers an attractive total compensation package and employee benefits, including:

Compensation:

  • HARTING's Total Compensation Structure includes a Base Salary and Bonus Percentage. 
  • Competitive base salary: $160,000 - $185,000 (commensurate with experience, subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • This role is eligible for a 10% discretionary annual bonus.
