Position Title: Procurement Manager

POSITION SUMMARY
HARTING Company Introduction– High-performance connection technology forms the basis of industrial application and product technology. The HARTING range of products and solutions comprises connectors, device connection technology and network components. HARTING products connect machines and facilities via data, signal and power. HARTING employs around 5,500 people across its 44 sales companies and 14 production locations.
The candidate for this position needs to have proven capabilities for Development of processing in new and relocation connectors. Maintain and improve serial connectors. This position is based in Guindy, Chennai, Tamilnadu. India.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education Required:
Bachelor or Master degree in SCM profession, International Trade or Comparable qualification. Good command of English (written and spoken)
Work Experience Required:
At least 10-12 years of work experiences in SCM Management on procurement function, preferably good exposure in multi-national company
Preferred:
Dealing with electromechanical products preferably in connectors sectors with wiring Harness / Cable Assemble work experience will be the added advantage.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Targets
• Overseeing local supply chain performance and providing leadership in their continuous improvements.
• Leading and managing logistics (warehouse, shipping and customs clearance) and demand planning in the most effective way, reducing SCM risk and cost, supporting company to achieve a sustainable development.
• To cooperate with internal and external team members actively.
2. Responsibilities
• Based on Global and Local Company's strategy, defining local supply chain strategy and driving the implementation that fulfills internal / external customer expectations.
• Setting up and optimizing local SCM processes to assure all process comply with internal and external requirements / rules.
• Driving continuous improvement on delivery performance (service level) and maximizing material availability while achieving inventory target.
• In accordance with global planning process, organizing local demand planning and logistics planning activities.
• Monitoring order intake and business trend, providing suggestions on company's strategy setup.
• Monitoring of SCM related key performance indicators, organizing root cause analysis and counter measures.
• Driving inventory optimization, organizing regular lot size, lead time, MOQ reviewing and negotiation.
• Organizing analysis of slow mover and non-mover, continuous development of scrapping strategies for reconciliation with relevant departments.
• Working with global supply chain and local management team to define SCM related KPIs.
• Conducting internal annual stock taking, coordinating with Finance Dept. for external spot-checking and auditing, discrepancy analysis and corrective actions.
• Driving continuous improvement on warehouse management, monitoring warehouse storage bin and facility utilization.
• Effectively managing shipping & customs clearance operations, controlling transportation time and freight, regularly reviewing Shipping & Customs Clearance processes to assure efficient of logistics flow.
• Act as a contact window, maintaining effective communications between Global and internal team to efficiently implement and execute processes and activities.
• Developing subordinates within the area of responsibility according to their qualifications as well as specific motivating guidance and support to subordinates in the fulfillment of their tasks.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations and Customer Service teams. Be interface between CS, Sales and Plant.
• Confer with supply chain planners to forecast demand or create supply plans that ensure availability of materials or products to satisfy customer demand based on requested delivery date.
• Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service.
• Design or implement supply chains that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.
• To drive MPS efficiently, maintains the balance between the demand and supply and involes activities right from procurement of materials and converting them into finished goods to ensuring delivery at the right time to reach the end-consumer.
• Good knowledge of Customs, Excise, Tax and Local distribution.
3. Functional relation with other HARTING departments
• Cross Functional Team especially, Production, Engineering, Quality, PD, Purchase, IE, Sales and Customer, Global Supply Chain Management team.
• On request by the superior manager, the employee besides his actual functions, can be involved to do other tasks which do not correspond to his routine activities sphere.
SKILL SETS AND GENERAL EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor or Master degree in SCM profession, International Trade or Comparable qualification.
• At least 10-12 years of work experiences in SCM Management on procurement function, preferably good exposure in multi-national company.
• Professional knowledge on whole supply chain, good understanding of requirements of management and global team.
• Comprehensive knowledge of ERP system (SAP R/3, APO is preferred), MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Capability for analysis and synthesis approach to problem solving, planning, control, decision-making skills, results orientation.
• Strong communication and people management skills, deadline oriented, time management skills
• Self-motivated and strong analysis skill, initiative and open mind.
• Excellent in verbal and written English and local language.
