Job Title              :  Application Engineer – HCS Engineering

Qualification      :  B.E. or Diploma

Dept. /Section   :  HCS – Cable Assembly Division

Job Location      :   Chennai – IN13

Roles & Responsibilities :

Responsible for Product & process Engineering in cable, cable assemblies, Jig’s fixtures & Wiring harness. Product Plat forming, Product Management, Product Life Cycle Management, New Product Introduction & Development, Project Management & Product strategy in electromechanical technology based products. Product Costing, Reverse Engineering, Value Engineering, Customer Management, Process & Document Engineering.  Relevant experience 2 to 3 Years for B.E or 4 to 6 Years for Diploma.

Primary Skills  :                                                                                       

  • Review customer requirement, specifications and prepare concept design by considering engineering specification
  • Participate in Design Reviews, DFMEA, PFMEA, Design for Manufacturability.
  • Review customer specifications and conduct engineering specification & feasibility reviews and participate in product concepts and proposal development.
  • Collaborating with CFT for organizing the Proto materials for the new projects
  • Proto-type preparation for new projects as per customer request
  • Design freeze, tooling, master sample build
  • Part Validation and Fit Function confirmation from customer end
  • Release Customer Drawing, Tooling Drawing and Production Drawing
  • Initiate DVP for new components as per the customer specification
  • Product Sustaining Engineering for the existing parts includes Initiate Engineering Change Request and Engineering Change Order (ECR / ECN).
  • Lead various projects of Product extensions, Value Engineering and New Product Development with the team
  • FAI (First Article Inspection) Report check for the product, and approval
  • Cost Reduction Project
  • Review new enquiries for technical & resource feasibility                                                                      
  • Drive Value engineering proposals                                                                  
  • Define and document position profiles, develop competency/skill matrix, training needs etc.          
  • Drive for continuous improvement in all area                                                              
  • Support all company focal points as required                                                               
  • Any other projects/work assigned by management                                                                                                 

 Secondary Skills  :                                                                                    

Knowledge in NX/Pro-E/Auto-CAD/CATIA V5/UG will be a added advantage
