Job Description
Record financial transactions in the general ledger, perform reconciliations, and resolve discrepancies. Assist in preparing financial statements and reports. Analyze variances between actual results and budgets, explaining significant differences. Ensure accuracy and integrity in financial reporting. Support internal and external audits with necessary documentation. Collaborate with other accounting and finance team members and suggest process improvements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Recording financial transactions in the general ledger, including journal entries, adjustments and accruals.
- Assist in performing monthly, quarterly, yearly reconciliations of general ledger accounts, including bank accounts, and resolving any discrepancies.
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and reports.
- Asset Management
- Support the analysis of variances between actual financial results and budgets/forecasts and explain material differences.
- Maintain internal controls and procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
- Assisting with internal and external audits, preparing required documentation and explanations.
- Work closely with other members of the accounting and finance team, such as accounting, accounts payable and tax specialists, to ensure comprehensive financial management.
- Suggest improvements to processes and systems to increase the efficiency and accuracy of the general ledger function
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance or a relevant field, or comparable specialised training (extensive relevant experience and proven expertise may be considered in lieu of a formal degree)
- Professional accounting certification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CA) is an advantage
- 1–5 years of professional accounting experience, preferably within the manufacturing industry
- Sound knowledge of general ledger, record-to-report processes and financial reporting standards (e.g. IFRS/GAAP)
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Competency in data analysis, financial reporting and KPI management
- Ability to drive performance optimisation through process improvement and data-driven insights
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel; experience with SAP S/4HANA is highly preferred
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin (written and spoken) is required, as the role involves regular communication with stakeholders and coordination with business units across English and Mandarin-speaking markets in the APAC region
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional finance team
